Polytech strengthens commitment to India with new Chennai setup

Polytech is taking the next step in its global expansion with the establishment of a new local setup in Chennai, India. Groundbreaking of the facility took place earlier this month and the investment strengthens Polytech’s ability to support wind turbine OEMs and asset owners in one of the world’s most important growth markets for wind energy.

The Chennai setup will initially serve as a commercial and operations hub, supported by warehousing and local customer support capabilities. Over time, Polytech expects to expand its Indian footprint with local production targeted to be ready in 2027, subject to market development and customer demand.

India has been an active market for Polytech for several years, and the new setup reflects a long-term commitment to customers and partners in the region. By establishing a stronger local presence, Polytech will improve responsiveness, shorten supply chains, and strengthen collaboration with both Indian and international wind turbine manufacturers.

A strategic investment in local capabilities

The move is part of Polytech’s wider strategy to combine global expertise with strong regional execution in key wind markets. With established hubs in Denmark, China, and Mexico, the addition of India further strengthens Polytech’s ability to support customers with solutions across lightning protection, leading edge protection, blade monitoring, transport protection, and aftermarket services.

“India is a strategically important market for Polytech and a natural next step in the development of our global footprint,” says René Balle, CEO at Polytech. “We have been active in India for many years, and with the new Chennai setup we are strengthening our ability to serve customers locally, increase responsiveness, and build the foundation for future production capabilities as the market develops.”

As part of the establishment, Polytech has appointed Arun Sasidharan as Head of Sales and Business Development, Polytech India. With more than two decades of experience in the wind industry, he brings extensive commercial experience and strong knowledge of the Indian and APAC wind markets.

“Polytech has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions that protect and enhance turbine performance,” says Arun Sasidharan, Head of Sales and Business Development, Polytech India. “I look forward to working closely with customers and partners to build on that position in India and support the next phase of growth through a strong local presence.”

Polytech’s establishment in India reflects a broader ambition to move closer to customers in regions where wind energy is expected to grow significantly.
